The ’80s Fashion Trend Every Zodiac Sign Would Have Followed

The 1980s did not have one look. The decade gave us power suits and punk, preppy polos and parachute pants, enormous bows and all-black everything.

That makes ’80s fashion surprisingly easy to match with the zodiac. Some signs would have embraced the loudest trend in the room, while others would have found a uniform and worn it for the entire decade. Here is the ’80s fashion trend every zodiac sign would have followed.

Aries: The Red Leather Jacket

Aries would have wanted something that made an entrance before they even said a word.

The red leather jacket had speed, attitude, and just enough danger to make an ordinary outfit feel important. Whether inspired by music videos or action movies, Aries would have worn it like they had somewhere urgent to be.

Taurus: Designer Denim

Taurus would have understood that jeans could be both comfortable and a status symbol.

A perfectly fitted pair from a coveted designer offered quality, style, and something worth wearing again and again. Taurus would have found the right pair and refused to get rid of them for the next 20 years.

Gemini: Parachute Pants

Gemini would have embraced a trend that was impossible to ignore.

Parachute pants were shiny, unusual, and made for a decade obsessed with movement. Gemini would have owned several pairs, defended them enthusiastically, and moved on to something completely different six months later.

Cancer: Laura Ashley Florals

While the rest of the decade chased neon and sharp angles, Cancer would have gone romantic.

Soft floral dresses, high collars, full skirts, and old-fashioned details offered an escape from the harder edges of ’80s fashion. Cancer would have looked like they belonged in a country cottage and been perfectly happy about it.

Leo: Sequins and Metallics

Leo would not have wasted the 1980s dressing quietly.

Sequins, gold lamé, metallic fabrics, and anything that caught the light would have been difficult to resist. The decade offered Leo endless opportunities to dress as though an ordinary night might turn into an awards show.

Virgo: The Preppy Look

Virgo would have appreciated a style with clear rules.

Oxford shirts, loafers, pleated trousers, cable-knit sweaters, and carefully coordinated layers created an outfit that always looked intentional. Virgo would know exactly which collar to wear with which sweater.

Libra: The Princess Diana Look

Libra would have followed the decade’s most elegant style icon.

Romantic blouses, tailored jackets, oversized sweaters, polished dresses, and carefully chosen accessories offered a balance of softness and sophistication. Libra would have noticed every detail.

Scorpio: Goth and Post-Punk Black

Scorpio was never going to wear the neon windbreaker.

Black clothing, leather, heavy eyeliner, lace, boots, and the darker influence of goth and post-punk would have felt much more natural. Scorpio would have looked mysterious without having to explain anything.

Sagittarius: The Tracksuit

Sagittarius would have wanted clothes that did not interfere with the next plan.

Bright tracksuits were comfortable, practical, and completely acceptable outside the gym. Sagittarius could travel, dance, run through an airport, or spontaneously leave town without changing clothes.

Capricorn: The Power Suit

Capricorn would have understood shoulder pads immediately.

The ’80s power suit was designed to project authority, ambition, and competence before a word was spoken. Capricorn would have owned several and known exactly which one to wear when something important was at stake.

Aquarius: New Wave Style

Aquarius would have found the part of ’80s fashion that looked like it came from the future.

Asymmetrical cuts, geometric shapes, unusual makeup, synthetic fabrics, and deliberately strange combinations made New Wave style impossible to confuse with anything else. Aquarius would have worn it before everyone else decided it was cool.

Pisces: The Bohemian Stevie Nicks Look

Pisces would have floated through the decade in layers.

Flowing skirts, shawls, lace, velvet, boots, and sleeves that moved dramatically through the air offered an alternative to the decade’s sharper trends. Pisces would have looked slightly magical and probably left a scarf behind wherever they went.
